Ah yes, the inevitable first post!

I suppose I shall start off by welcoming y’all to my blog. I will apologize beforehand for any boringness or spells of zzzzzz’s that might occur due to reading! Oky, so whats bouncing through my head at the moment?? Well mostly the thought of SN shutting down…OFC!!! Now normally, I for one wouldn’t have even known about a writers strike, I rarely watch television anywhos. But seeing that I’m such an avid SN fan the writers strike has indeed captured some of my attention. Last I read, and unfortunately I don’t have the link saved, production of SN is scheduled to stop on the 5th of Dec. SN of course isn’t the only show which production is stopping for however, I believe Smallville is due to stop on the 23rd of Jan.  – not 100% on that though, so please don’t quote me!  Now where some fans say “Support the writers!” I’m torn. Yes it is the writers who essentially put the story together, write the story line or what not, BUT… if they weren’t on strike our shows would still be going…would they not??? Where some SN fans are saying they can’t live without the show, well…maybe I’ll shed a few tears. I mean after all I have been hooked since the pilot aired in ‘05 & for it to just end now & not know whether or not Dean gets out of the deal!?!?! Ah yes, a part of me shall grieve I suppose you could say. But life will most certainly go on.

  1. I gotta support the writers. At the end of the day (and of course Jeff is involved in the industry too), but at the end of the day, the writers are indeed the one who put the story together, so I feel they are entitled to a cut of sales made for DVD’s, and also, a cut of profits made from online revenue too.

They don’t get paid a whole whack of cash like producers, lighting crews, and all the rest of them do. As the ones that put the entire story together and keep it going, I feel personally that they’re entitled to a cut of the profits that everyone else involved gets.

    Just my opinion though :P

  2. I guess I didn’t make much sense. I do agree w/ you in the sense they deserve their fair share of the credit/$$ etc.

I guess I’m just a bit upset that they can’t settle it so I don’t miss my show =[.
